20th Year

Hello my lovelies,

Long time no see, I’ve missed writing on here. Life has been busy, so I haven’t been able to keep up with this nor Words We Heart.  I just turned 20, and it is such a huge milestone for me. I am entering into a new decade in my life, some could even say it is the most important decade because it will play a huge part in determining where the rest of my life is headed. I don’t know why , but 20 is a significant number to me. It will be the start of so much. I’m beyond excited.

Also, I just started a new semester in college, and I’m excited about that. I know I’ll feel differently as the semester progresses, but this summer was not very exciting, therefore, I was somewhat ready for it to end. The prospect of education has always been appealing to me, so I’m looking forward to this year.  In all honesty, I’m looking forward to graduation. Walking across that stage will be the satisfaction for all the stress, tears and hard work I’ve been putting in.

As far as the direction of this blog moving forward. I’m a fashionista at heart, therefore I do plan on showcasing that as much as possible; but I think I’m mainly going to keep this as a lifestyle page. A place where I can talk about any and everything. We’ll chat about new shows (A Million Little Things seems very promising), NYFW, new food places I stumble upon during my NYC strolls, current events, personal dilemmas, college life, life in general…pretty much whatever fits that day.

I also want to interact more with you guys on social media so if you’d like, check me out there ♥

And we’re off! | Los Angeles (Travel 1)

Hello lovelies,

I’m reaching you all today from Los Angeles, California. I have wanted to visit California for years now, and I can’t believe I’m finally here. This is my first time traveling without family, and quite frankly, I’ve gotten a bit of anxiety over it.

I’m here for a few days with an old friend whom I haven’t seen in awhile. Thus far, I haven’t done yet due to jet lag, but the plans for the weekend are DisneyLand, and San Francisco, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the sign. Upon landing, after the longest flight I’ve ever been on, we were welcomed with rain and humidity. It was a bitter sight after leaving a (although cold) sunny NY.

Although I haven’t seen much, I must say I am not super impressed yet. LAX itself was a bit disappointing. JFK is such a beautiful airport, and in comparison LAX seemed very dull. I’ll have more to say about the airport upon leaving as I will have much more time to explore.

I’m feeling much better now after a long day of travel yesterday. My friend arrives later today and until then I’m going off to explore.

Talk Soon!

Fashion at The Royal Wedding | Princess Eugenie & Jack Brooksbank

Hello lovelies,

So I’m not sure if you know, but last Friday there was yet another Royal Wedding at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor (same location Prince Harry & Meghan Markle tied the knot last May). I’m really into that now. Truthfully, I always have been. I remember waking up super early in 2011 for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding, and I did the same for Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie. I’ve always loved weddings, they’re totally my thing, but Royal Weddings are so extravagant, I love the thrill of it all.

Friday morning many of the couple’s friends, a lot of them high profile celebrities showed up in style!

Today, I will be rounding up my favorite looks from the event!

Princess Eugenie herself. What a gorgeous dress! I absolutely loved it from the moment she stepped out. The intricate design, the cut, the fit, everything was perfection. I loved the low back and what it meant to her. It was elegant in every way. I also loved the bouquet she chose, and the way it accentuated the cut of the dress. Also, the tiara she chose to wear (the Greville Emerald Tiara) was such a lovely unexpected touch. The green of the emeralds brought out her eyes, and I also love how it tied in with her mother’s ensemble.

Her reception dress, designed by American designer Zac Posen was magnificent. Zac Posen is one of my favorite designers, and upon first glance I could tell this could be his. The way he cuts his gowns is so unique. His designs are sleek and well structured. This was no exception. The champagne color was also a nice touch. I am obsessed.

My personal favorite and best dressed goes to Cara Delevigne. She shocked everyone in her suit (designed by Emporio Armani) and top hat (Chanel). I loved it. It was tailored to perfection, and I love the way she paired it with simple black pumps. The hat was a magnificent choice. She did something out of the norm, but it worked out so well. I must also say it was not all that surprising that she would pull this off. I don’t think many others would risk it at such an event. In all honesty, I love it when I see women in suits. #BossLady

(PS: Blake Lively’s outfits for the Simple Favor press were to die for. )

Her sister, Poppy, also arrived in a stunning ensemble. I loved the color of her dress. A beautiful light shade of blue. As well as the cutout details throughout her dress. Absolutely gorgeous.

Singer, Ellie Goulding was also in attendance. Her dress was not one of my favorites but  I loved the color. Regardless, she looked beautiful . I love her choice of accessories.

Cressida Bonas looked stunning in Tory Burch and a hat by Juliette Botteril. I loved this ensemble. She’s such a beautiful girl and she looked amazing. The blue of the dress was beautiful and I loved how she paired it with the red tone in the shoes.

I loved the look Demi Moore went for. The deep burgundy tied in so nicely with the fall wedding. She looked absolutely mesmerizing. It also looked so great with her dark hair. Definitely her color. It is most definitely one of my favorites.

Naomi Campbell was also in attendance. I loved her ensemble, and she looked gorgeous as always; however, I don’t think it was entirely appropriate. I think it was too much black. Upon first glance, it did not make me think she was headed to a wedding.

Pippa Middleton looked stunning in green. I loved her look with her baby bump. The green also flattered her very much. I loved the high neck and long sleeves. It was well cut.

The Duchess of Cambridge also looked amazing in pink! I loved this Alexander McQueen number. The shoes (Prada) were also beautiful, and tied in the look nicely. She looked lovely.

The Duchess of York and her daughter Princess Beatrice also looked lovely. Many did not like Sarah’s hat, but I think, while it does look like the Golden Snitch, it was very cute. It accentuated her dress and overall look very nicely. Princess Beatrice showed up in Royal Blue and look ravishing. They both looked amazing.

The Duchess of Sussex also looked ravishing in blue. She sported a blue Givenchy coat and dress with matching blue pumps and a Noel Stewart hat. I have been closely following Meghan’s fashion since the announcement of her engagement, and I truly love her style. This look did not disappoint. Sleek and Chic in every way. I know she also loves darker hues when it comes to her clothing, but this particular outfit choice was probably to help hide her pregnancy if she is showing at all.

That being said, I want to extend my congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on their first pregnancy. They announced the news earlier.

Well, there you have it. I pulled together this mini round up of some of my favorite and most noticeable looks from the Royal Wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. Congratulations to the lovely couple!

If you watched the wedding let me know some of your favorite looks as well! Or which one of those I listed do you like?

Ashley

IMATS 2018 HAUL

Hello lovelies,

This seems to be incredibly late doesn’t it? I mean, since Imats all happened two months ago. Well, I do have somewhat of an excuse. I left the country for two weeks right after Imats weekend, and when I got back, I had a lot of college studies to catch up on and prepare for my finals. Now that all that is over, I just got the time to go through my purchases and sort them out.

I had a great time at Imats. It was my first year attending, and it was a lot of fun. I went on Saturday. I arrived a lot later than I had anticipated earlier, but I still made the most of the time I had. I did not plan on spending a lot of money at the show, as I’m known to sometimes go overboard at these events.

Here are the items I purchased:

I will link the ones I can find below ♥

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette (Retail $49) Show Price: 29.40

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (Retail: $23) Show Price: $13.80

Benefit Porefessional Primer (Retail : $ 31)

ABH Modern Renaissance Palette (Retail $42) Show Price: $40 (I believe)

Violet Voss Glitter (Retail $9) Show Price $5

Violet Voss Liquid Lipsticks (Retail $12) Show Price: 3 for $5 or $6

I also got some lashes from Frends Beauty, as well as a Stilazzi royal blue gel eye liner, and 2 single shadows.

Moving Forward

Hello,
It has been awhile since I have sat down and written to you guys. My life has been a whirlwind these past months, and even years. I have missed this blog, as well as my other blog. I feel as though I have been so stressed and busy for so long now, that I lost my love and drive for this place. Now, I would like to turn over a new leaf, and start over. I figured I should re-introduce myself.
I’m Ashley. I am currently a college student, I just finished my sophomore year. I am majoring in Communications (with a focus on Film/ TV Production) and Psychology. I am a lover of food, music, fashion, literature, and most other creative forms. I sometimes design clothes, I read a bunch (used to at least, but we’ll get back to that too) I love to bake, and am now getting into cooking.

I’m going to turn this place into a lifestyle blog, where I can share all my loves and feelings. You will see fashion posts, food posts, hints at literature (but that will be more so focused on Words We Heart) as well as advice pieces on many different topics. We will discuss many things.  have high goals for this lovely haven, and I hope I can succeed.
Coeur De Couture has been my hidden away project for awhile now, it’s time I bring it to the front lines.
I hope you’re all excited to go on this journey with me, and that as time progresses, there will be more of you.

With all my love and appreciation,
Ashley

Professional Discounts for Makeup Artists and Cosmetologists

Hi,

It’s been awhile, I know but I’ve been very busy lately. I’m hopeful to start back on here more regularly, I have some great stuff coming up. So I just recently got my Cosmetology License and I realized that with it, I can get many discounts. So I did some research on the places I could get a discount at and how much exactly, and I wanted to share.

Also, a lot of these places don’t require a license, if you can provide something else, like a portfolio of your work, pay stub from clients that you’ve done, a letter from your boss if you work at let’s say a salon like I do, ect…

Some of these require an annual fee, but most are free. The fee doesn’t usually go above $35 from what I’ve noticed. Also, sadly, Sephora doesn’t have a program like this, but they do accept the Make Up For Ever Card.

Make-up artists receive a 40% discount. Aestheticians, Cosmetologists, Hairstylists, Fashion Stylists, Manicurists, Costume Designers, Models, On-Air Talent/Performers, and Photographers receive a 30% discount.

All of the information was taken off of each respective brands website. None of it comes from me, I just used it for sharing purposes.

The Royal Peach Palette by Kylie Cosmetics

Kylie Cosmetics: The Royal Peach Palette

So, a little while ago when Kylie first announced her Bronze Palette, I made a post (whihch you can find here) stating the reasons why I wouldn’t be purchasing it. She then went on to release the Burgundy Palette which I have to admit, I had real interest in, but still did not purchase. She then released her holiday Kyshadow Palette which featured a mirror, so that was an upgrade, but I had no real interest in the shades. Finally, just recently she announced her Royal Peach Palette which was a real turn around. It featured a new look, 12 shades as opposed to the original 9, a mirror and a brush. All for $45 as opposed to the $42 she charged for her former palettes.

I absolutely loved the shades in the palette and watched a lot of reviews before purchasing it. I watched a lot of different looks to see if the pigmentation was there, and to hopefully determine whether or not the quality was there.

From what I saw, the shadows were great to work with, and the quality seemed to be there, so I went ahead and purchased it, because I felt like $45 was a good amount for what I was receiving. Now this isn’t a review, I haven’t used the palette just yet, but I wanted to write this before using it, and hopefully once I do get to using it and creating looks, I won’t be disappointed.

From a first impression, the product seems great. Although there are some things right off the bat that I can tell could’ve been done better, like the packaging, and perhaps the smell which is bothering a lot of people it seems, not me as much though; but we’ll get deeper into that in the review.

Have any of you gotten this yet? Are you planning on it?

xx,

-A
